What you will be doing :
Preparation and drafting of Surrogate's Court petitions and related documents for Probate or Administration of an Estate
Prepare asset lists, analyze bank and business records, identify trust and non-trust assets, and identify title and character of assets
Maintain client files and prepare materials for client meetings
Effectively communicate with clients and court offices
Submit court filings as required, including mailed and e-filing
Continued follow-up on filed cases
Other tasks as assigned
Experience you will need :
Must have at least 1 - 3 years of experience with New York Probate Court proceedings and probate administration process
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be detail-oriented and organized with good analytical and problem-solving ability
Must have expertise in drafting and filing New York state probate / administration matters
Must have experience with e-filing online through NYSCEF
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, email, and legal platforms
Must have excellent client service skills, including patience and empathy
Must have the ability to function independently with direction and as a team player within the department
