Position Overview
Rack & Riddle Custom Wine Services, the #1 custom sparkling wine producer in the United States, is seeking an experienced Bottling Line Mechanic to add to our team.
Under general supervision, this position installs, performs maintenance on all bottling equipment that includes repairs and performs preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance on a wide variety of bottling equipment/machinery. This position also installs, repairs and performs preventative and emergency maintenance on a wide variety of wine bottling line equipment that operates from 70 bottles per minute up to 200 bottles/cans per minute. Additionally, the Mechanic will perform repairs on wine production equipment, support equipment, buildings, fixtures and systems.
Essential Responsibilities
- Installs, repairs, and modifies existing and new equipment.
- Utilizes a variety of hand, portable and industrial power tools.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure that the bottling lines are running efficiently.
- Fabricates specialized equipment relative to the bottling lines.
- Provides assistance in the maintenance and troubleshooting of programmable logic control systems (PLC).
- Maintains, repairs, and performs a variety of other skilled maintenance duties such as welding, plumbing, and equipment repairs.
- Continually reviews equipment or systems that need repair and work with the Bottling Maintenance Supervisor to schedule and complete.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to review work requests, identify solutions, and ensure all work is done with a high degree of workmanship.
- Orders parts and materials within approved budgets, subject to approval of the Maintenance Manager.
- Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance and determines the nature of problems and recommends appropriate solutions.
- Assists in the movement of materials and equipment.
- Ensures safe work practices and adheres to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to, timely and accurate reporting of all work-related injuries and illnesses to the supervisor, promoting safety awareness to co-workers, advising the supervisor of any unsafe acts and conditions, and wearing required personal protective equipment.
