What are the responsibilities and job description for the Setter Operator Press position at RBC?
Under the direction of the supervisor this individual is responsible for setting up a variety of mechanical and hydraulic presses and maintaining an orderly inventory of all associated jigs, tools, dies and other pertinent equipment. The incumbent must be able to operate the variety of machines in the department at production levels while maintaining quality requirements. The incumbent will fill in on most jobs in the department when required, will be responsible for notifying the supervisor of all maintenance requirements on a timely basis and also requisitioning any tools or other materials as required through the supervisor.
Must be able to use existing tools for new jobs. Responsibilities will also include simple maintenance of tools such as polishing dies as well as torque inspection. Compress, bake and cut-up bond samples, and perform consistent, timely preventive maintenance. Must maintain accurate production records and counts, maintain a safe and clean work area, move work as required, doing unusual or experimental work, and performing any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor. Must follow work instructions and set up sheets on assembly and compression jobs. Must let the supervisor know if any operator is without work and therefore available for other work either inside of out of the department.
The incumbent must be able to frequently move average and heavy weight materials and objects by lifting and pushing (over 60 lbs) as a routine function of this position. Adhering to all safety related work practices is critical to avoid injury to self and others.
