Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role is crucial in promoting a safe work environment and minimizing risks associated with occupational hazards. The Safety Supervisor will collaborate with various departments to oversee effective safety training programs and maintain high standards of workplace safety.
Duties
- Monitor safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines. **This will be in several buildings where we provide facility services throughout Utah, with some travel to surrounding states.
- Work with staff in day/evenings -swing shift with on call duties as required.
- Provide training development for employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, first aid, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay updated on workers' compensation laws, EPA regulations, and occupational health standards to ensure organizational compliance.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization by engaging employees in safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training sessions, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience in a safety role or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, workers' compensation, environmental regulations (EPA), and occupational health practices.
- Experience in training development and delivery related to workplace safety topics.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels regarding safety issues.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
