JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for accurately storing, shipping, and receiving a product to meet company standards on safety, security, and productivity.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Moves product to correct storage location and ensuring the product is appropriately stacked
- Makes certain inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Reports quality variances
- Completes first count of pick and ensures the second count is done (by the stager if applicable)
- Completes all necessary paperwork
- Is responsible for accurate put-a-way and picking and is required to count after pick when necessary
- Will be expected to complete cycle counts either physically or through the RF gun on a regular basis
- Ensures proper stock rotation
- Operates any material handling machines as required, including forklifts, balers, blenders, and packaging machines in a safe manner
- Maintains the forklift and work area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Cleans up any spills caused by the machine (i.e. hydraulic fluid, oils)
- Inspects and performs minor maintenance on the turret daily. Completes reports and records accurately and gives to supervisor for record keeping
- Reports any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor so a work order can be done
- Ensures that tight control and security are maintained. Assists in physical inventories
- Performs labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and light assembly
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have minimum of one-year forklift experience
- Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly
- Must be able to complete internal certification program
- Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time
- Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
- Must be able to use proper technique to lift 50 pounds
