Position Summary:
Using the provided software, draw custom requests from the customer base. These are cabinets/accessories that are not in the standard catalog. Create descriptive job files that can be used to construct the cabinet and files that can be used to run CNC equipment to cut parts for the request.
Call customers with questions or concerns when warranted. Develop a relationship with the customer base.
Organize and prioritize the daily/weekly work package to return jobs to customers promptly.
Learn the product line well enough to be seen as an expert by the manufacturing group. Spend time on the floor working with the manufacturing group to ensure that the intended item is built as per specifications. Solve any issues related to the custom cabinets/accessories put into the manufacturing unit.
Provide drawings to the Sales & Marketing Group for use in catalogs and order programs.
Provide drawings and product research to the Research and Development team when needed, starting from a concept to a marketable product, including physical engineering, costing, and manufacturing processes.
Be a key member of the R&D group with efficient use of all resources a top priority.
Manage multiple tasks in tandem.

Reports to the Director of Research and Development
Accountabilities:
- The main job responsibility is to draw customs for job folders and return them to Customer Service promptly.
- Work with Research and Development to develop new products from inception or with a directive from the Director of Research & Development. This will entail;
- Researching similar competitive products if applicable
- Making detailed drawings of prototypes
- Working with production to build one-off prototypes
- New products can include any of the following;
- New cabinet SKUs
- New accessory SKUs
- New molding concepts
- Entirely new cabinet lines
- Niche furniture pieces
- Simple machinery used to produce new or existing product
- Make specialty shop drawings for items unrelated to consumer products such as machinery or tooling
- Become an expert on all new and current RD Henry product lines and become a resource for customers, customer service, and manufacturing
Position Requirements
- Education;Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas or 3 years experience in a similar position with a past employer.
- BS Degree or equivalent in one of the following areas;
- Interior Architecture
- Architectural Drafting
- Design & Drafting Engineering
- Wood Technology
- Applied Engineering

- Skills Required:
- Strong drafting skills. Ability to operate drawing or drafting programs;
- Autodesk AutoCAD or equivalent
- Cabinet Vision Solids or similar industry modeling software
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Word
- Excel
- Outlook
- PowerPoint
- Duality – Professional with hands-on woodworking experience preferred
- Able to work without supervision and meet deadlines
- Strong understanding of parametric modeling, preferred
- Comfortable working in groups or by oneself
- Ability to think 3-dimensionally
- Flexibility and willingness to work the job given that day
