Summary
The Director of Quality Assurance will be responsible for developing and implementing the vision and strategy for a transformational total quality system approach and leading a culture of quality through the implementation of best practices; a strong QMS; and quality improvement programs. This position will be expected to identify high-level quality improvement opportunities; including systems, philosophies, techniques, and processes; provide leadership to propose and drive solutions. Requires highly collaborative behavior with other departments. Incumbents must have a customer-focused mindset and be comfortable interacting with customers in diverse markets and geographies.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance.
  • Experience in the creation, development and implementation of new programs.
  • Internal or external auditing experience.
Essential Functions
  • Leads efforts in identifying the root cause of quality issues, establishing corrective actions, and following up to ensure effective resolution.
  • Evaluates current quality system, identifies areas for improvement, initiates, and implements quality improvement activities.
  • Designs, implements, and documents procedures for process control and process improvement.
  • Oversees collection and analysis of statistical data to predict trends and make recommendations for improvement of product quality.
  • Educates and trains employees on the quality management system.
  • Contributes to go/no-go decisions regarding product quality.
  • Drives continuous improvement through the strengthening of quality tools, skills, infrastructure, and process improvements required to achieve business objectives.
  • Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Determine and work with Operations on benchmarks, improvements, goals, and projects
  • Establishes in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures.
  • Develops Systems to efficiently track, trend, and provide root cause trending along with recommendations to fix
  • Establishes rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
  • Establishes product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements, collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Determine Root Cause based on historical trends and information gathered, drive recommendations for change
  • Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
  • Maintains quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Work Environment
This job operates in production manufacturing warehouse. May be required to wear common (PPE)Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection.
