Summary
The Production Scheduler is a part of the Plant Operations team and plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient production within molding and assembly. This role is responsible for the development and execution of production schedules aligned with customer requirements and inventory strategies. As a high-visibility position, the candidate must have the ability to organize and manage a high number of priorities effectively in a simultaneous manner. The Production Scheduler will also have a supervisory role, overseeing production scheduling personnel to ensure compliance with schedules and efficient workflow. Strong leadership skills are essential for guiding team members and fostering a collaborative and urgent environment.
The ability to implement process and procedural improvements in a demanding environment is critical. This position is also responsible for performing other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains an accurate Master Schedule that is aligned with the sales plan and inventory strategies and approved by the Manager
- Provides reliable commit dates from functional department heads to support customer orders
- Monitors, analyzes and maintains key planning parameters including lead times and safety stock
- Ensures Bill of Materials are accurate for all work orders.
- Releases work orders in accordance with the Master Schedule and MRP to support the necessary supply to support customer demand
- Perform root cause analysis and develop appropriate countermeasures for key metric misses including On-time Delivery, Schedule Compliance, Safety Stock, and Master Schedule Quality
- Supports and implements the policies, procedures, systems, and programs required to meet department and company objectives
- Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements. Participates, as required, in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work. Bring regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.
- Need to stay current with modern scheduling methodologies and recommend improvements as needed.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment within a manufacturing plant. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, stairs, offices, and cubicles.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 3-5 years of scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Understanding of molding and assembly equipment (preferred).
- Experience in manufacturing plastic injection molding (preferred)
