The Community Leasing Professional is the heart of connections with our residents. The Leasing Professional will bring exceptional experiences to life every day for our current and future residents through active engagement in the marketing of the facility. This individual will partner with applicants through the showing and leasing process and anticipating and responding to resident and property maintenance needs, requests and concerns. Leasing Professionals are a key part of the property management team and work closely with their fellow team members to achieve and maintain maximum occupancy of their properties and strong resident satisfaction results.

  • Assist with advertising, social media, branding and marketing of properties
  • Tour and present the property and available units with prospective residents.  Follow up with and track all prospective residents’ information to drive the leasing process
  • Manage the leasing and renewal process from start to finish while following all regulatory guidelines
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with residents by addressing and responding to requests, questions and concerns, making referrals to manager or maintenance team members as appropriate.
  • Schedule and perform apartment move-ins and move-outs to ensure readiness for new residents
  • Plan and coordinate fun and festive resident functions throughout the year
  • Maintain maximum occupancy of properties by achieving or succeeding relevant operational metrics
  • Assist with advising residents on rent collection options and basic process questions.
  • Conduct property, building walks (interiors and exteriors), and unit walks/inspections to help ensure the attractive appearance, including picking up trash and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Follow and maintain property security and key or electronic Fob management
  • Be responsible and accountable for own actions and reactions
  • Understand and engage in trainings and processes aligned to this role and any organization-wide required trainings within the defined timelines
  • Incorporate learnings from fellow team members into your personal growth and development
  • Serve as a mentor to help in the growth and development of fellow team members
  • Create goals, processes, and habits to succeed in career growth and development
  • Cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion for residents and employees by:
    • Ensuring compliance with all Fair Housing and EPA laws and regulations as well as government programs.
    • Communicate professionally and effectively with residents and fellow team members through active listening to understand.
    • Know and call team members and residents by name.
    • Participate in community initiatives and organizations.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management
  • Represent self and company in a professional and positive manner
  • Attend required company meetings and training and participate in constructive discussion
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of the company
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner

 

Requirements 

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Prior experience in property management or a related industry is preferred, but not required
  • Strong leasing/sales skills and aptitude with confidence and drive to close the lease
  • Customer service experience and a strong customer service mind-set
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate to a diverse group of people
  • Self-driven with an ability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritizes responsibilities
  • Team player who works well and supports everyone in order to achieve our goals and objectives 
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship

 

Essential Job Functions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; lift or move up to 25 pounds, and speak clearly and hear well. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours in a demanding and sometimes stressful environment.   Evening and weekend work is required at times.
  • The job duties require periodic work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including cold temperatures, rain, wind, and other weather conditions customary to the location.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
