Job Description:
The loan processing Team Lead supports the processing team by providing coverage and support in taking over the tasks the loan processors are responsible for when there is planned and unplanned PTO, an influx of volume, mentoring new hires, and/or projects assigned based on business needs. Responsibilities and tasks include ensuring loan files contain all the documentation and data necessary to move through the loan lifecycle efficiently and to close the loan on time. Attention to detail, passion for process, and obsession with excellent customer service are critical. The Loan Processor is exposed to very sensitive personal information of our borrowers, so high levels of integrity and discretion are expected and non-negotiable. The team lead would also participate in tasks to the assist the loan processing managers such as audits and projects related to policies and procedures.
Essential Duties:
- Assist Loan Originators by prioritizing sales pipelines based on application statuses
- Support Loan Originators with tasks related to completing the mortgage loan application (1003 Application) such as running AUS (Fannie Mae’s DU/DO, Freddie Mac’s LPA S2S, or USDA’s GUS) or importing information from credit reports
- Generate initial disclosures for LO review in accordance with the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule (TRID) procedures and timelines
- Collect documentation from borrowers at the direction of LOs and the loan system; enter document information into the loan system and submit information to wholesale lending organizations for conditional approval
- Manage the statuses and follow-up communications with mortgage services providers such as appraisers and title companies
- Work with wholesale lending underwriters to secure conditional approval and clearance to close
- Validate Final Closing Disclosure (Final CD) information and resolve any missing or mismatched data before closing the loan file in our system
- Execute a Closing Checklist to confirm that all regulated and reportable information is captured in a loan file before closing the file in our system
- Run and distribute various reports on a recurring basis
- Participate in process improvement projects
- Provide prompt, warm, and memorable service
- Mentor new hires by providing hands-on shadow sessions during training and assisting with their first few loans
- Partner with loan processing managers providing support to the loan processing team by answering questions and/or assisting with loan scenarios/escalations
- Participate in any projects related to processes and procedures
- Participate in specific loan audits
- Consistently manage 5-10 loans in the pipeline (this may or may not include loans being covered)
License/Certification:
- Your mortgage licensure will be managed by the company; existing loan origination or loan processing license is required
Experience:
- 3 years of mortgage loan processing or other types of loan processing experience
- Exceptional Customer Service
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid understanding of mortgage processing regulations, technology, terminology, and environment.
- Ability to project a high degree of professionalism and positive image
- Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications
- Wholesale and TPO experience not required, but a plus!
Hire Range/Rate: $66,000-$73,000
Actual compensation offered to candidate will be finalized at offer and may be above or below the posted range due to skill level, experience, industry specific knowledge, education/certifications, or geographic location. The offer rate represents one component of the RE/MAX Holdings total compensation package. Employees will also receive a number of benefits as listed below. Other compensation for this position may include bonus eligibility.
