Function
Participates in the monthly closing process and accounting functions for Fort Wayne, Guilford, Ashland facilities and the corporate office in accordance with GAAP, FASB, IRS, and REA corporate standards. Assists in supporting the plant management with inventory and other required financial projects. Participates in the cost accounting functions and supporting the NA Operations Controller with those requirements. Other ad hoc financial related projects as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages and prepares timely and accurate monthly inventory summaries for Fort Wayne, Guilford and Ashland facilities.
- Performs account analysis and monthly closing and reporting duties for Fort Wayne, Guilford and Ashland facilities.
- Creates General Ledger entries and maintains general ledger accounts as instructed.
- Assists in accounting and reporting functions at the Fort Wayne, Guilford, Ashland facilities and for the corporate office.
- Develops reports and analyzes operational metrics as required from Plant Management and NA Operations Controller.
- Attends required staff meetings and monthly operations meetings as required.
- Assists in the facilitation of capital request authorizations.
- Reviews standard cost components and make required updates for the Fort Wayne, Guilford and Ashland facilities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accurate inventory costing standards for N.A. plants under NA Operations Controller supervision.
- Assists in completing standard costs for new products added to inventory daily and monthly and performs cost roll-ups.
- Ensures standard costs are copied to and are properly maintained at outside sites.
- Assists with coordination of annual inventory standards revision and updates, roll-ups and review of new standards.
- Completes special product costing studies as requested by product managers, engineers, product teams, etc.
- Conducts special projects or studies at the direction of the NA Operations Controller and Plant Management.
- Weekly forecasting for variable and fixed costs for Fort Wayne, Guilford and Ashland facilities.
- Prepare annual variable and fixed cost plans for Fort Wayne, Guilford and Ashland facilities.
- Complete monthly scrap summaries and waterfalls for Fort Wayne, Guilford and Ashland facilities.
- Assists with the annual external audit.
- Ensures adherence to policies and procedures as established by Rea.
Position Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Two (2) – four (4) years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
Strong mathematical and analytical skills, report writing, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and organize workload and willingness and ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
Travel to other plants as required.
