Position Summary :
Identifies, analyzes and develops improvements in productivity, quality, client relationships and customer service. Analyzes manufacturing system at all stages to develop the quality of the process and product and to prevent customer issues. Identifies root cause of customer issues, prepares and closes corrective actions. Works closely with Operations to communicate awareness, and develop training and other necessary measures to address and prevent quality problems.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Works as a liaison with customers and operations to communicate issues and improve processes.
- Collects data, investigates, and performs product evaluations on customer returns, identifying root cause and communicating and sustaining the resolutions in the manufacturing process.
- Communicates directly with customers regarding quality issues and provides required corrective and preventative action responses in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates expertise in a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures to identity and reduce quality issues and accomplish established metrics.
- Implements, utilizes, and guides the use of SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma in the manufacturing environment.
- Prepares PPAP’s.
- Ability to use FMEAs to focus and understand the impact of potential process or product risks or failures in all sub systems and how their consequences effect the whole system.
- Leads, participates, and assists in problem solving process to develop corrective and preventative actions.
- Provides a technical point of reference for quality issues and mentors manufacturing supervisors and process engineers / technicians in the use of quality improvement techniques.
- Assesses manufacturing process capability by performing statistical capability studies.
- Compiles and writes training materials and conducts quality training.
- Assists work teams in continuous process improvement activities.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
