Function
Leads process improvement initiatives within the plant to ensure consistent production of quality product. Facilitates and leads team efforts to establish and monitor customer/supplier relations, supports strategic planning and deployment initiatives and helps develop measurement systems to determine organizational improvement. Directs these activities through training, application, and evaluation of OpEx tools and project leaders and the coordination of the Quality staff and employees. Monitors, identifies, and drives projects focused on process and quality within the facility. Maintains the Plant Quality (PPM) and Operational Excellence (OpEx) records and metric systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and merges Quality and Op Ex to champion process improvement initiatives within the plant.
- Leads, maintains, and improves the quality system (ISO9001) and ensure timely follow up of actions related to internal and external audit findings.
- Addresses customer quality complaints and issues, ensuring proper root cause analysis and follow up on implementation of corrective actions. Interprets customer product specifications and ensures compliance. Maintains product specification standards.
- Facilitates and leads team to maintain successful customer and supplier relations and consistent quality of all product produced. Ensures quality and OpEx metrics meet or exceed customer and internal expectations.
- Develops measurement systems to determine operational improvements and promotes and drives change and continuous improvement through the Quality and OpEx systems and tool application. Evaluates the Quality and OpEx system to establish new goals and objectives. Recommends priorities on implementation of continuous improvements and coordinates these activities with the respective plant manager.
- Leads projects and Kaizen events. Supports and implements various tasks to improve Rea Wire quality, production methods, and business processes in support of the Rea Wire Strategic Plan.
- Develops training and trains plant personnel on Quality and OpEx tools and applications to support functions of the facility. May coordinate and conduct Quality and OpEx training and education across all levels of the organization.
- Leads, guides, and develops OpEx compliance on performance assessments conducted by Corporate OpEx Leadership team.
- Performs such individual assignments as the Plant Manager may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the plant teams, the Company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant field.
- Eight (8) years of production or manufacturing experience;
- In-depth knowledge of continuous improvement methods and applications.
- Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing certification
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook); statistical software (Minitab).
- People oriented and comfortable working the floor.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Deals well with ambiguity and has a strong Customer focus.
- Travel up to 10%
Qualifications Desired:
- ASQ CQM desired but not required.
- Experience in leading, maintaining and improving ISO-9001; TS16949 quality systems.
- Magnet Wire experience preferred
- Black Belt preferred
