Position Summary:
This is a senior level accountant role. The individual performs the full cycle of accounting functions to ensure timely and complete accounting records are maintained for REACH (“parent” company) including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. Reviews and assists with payroll and personnel accounting-related functions. Assist in annual corporate budget process and audit.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: General Ledger
- Prepares and posts journal entries, including transactions for subsidiary properties, cash receipts, depreciation, and administrative overhead allocation.
- Conducts account analysis and reconciliations.
- Prepares and reviews for accuracy and completeness various reports including monthly financial statements for REACH and department managers.
- Assist with year- end closing and the compilation of data for audit and tax returns.
Housing Development Accounting
- Assists with all facets of the accounting for new properties during their pre-development, construction, and transition to operating phases. This includes invoice management, account reconciliation, and general ledger tasks.
Grant Accounting
- Assists with the operations of post-award grant administration and related accounting duties to ensure complete compliance with grant agreements and Federal requirements.
- Sets up and maintains grant budgets and reconciles grant funds.
Accounts Payable
- Processes and post regular and recurring invoices and generate checks as needed.
- Collects, reviews, and posts corporate credit card expense reports.
- Processes employee mileage and petty cash reimbursements.
Accounts Receivable
- Performs daily cash receipt tasks and posts cash receipts for corporate entity.
Payroll and Personnel
- Reviews payroll preview reports for accuracy and completeness before submission to third-party payroll service.
- Backs-up Payroll Accountant position and assist as needed.
General
- Maintains general ledger accounts, accounting-related files, and records for REACH corporate.
- Regular attendance is required in accordance with a regular schedule established for the position by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Possess strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices, mathematical, and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of relevant computer programs, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Smartphone technology including phone calls, email, calendar and text.
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills; ability to communicate in an effective
and concise manner.
Scope & Accountability:
- Frequently, incumbent's decisions and actions moderately impact the company's revenue
or operations. Errors may result in incorrect payments made, missed payments and filing
deadlines, additional costs to the organization, and incorrect financial reports.
- Incumbent makes independent decisions and performs majority of work under minimal level
of supervision.
- Work under established guidelines and controls, including Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley and other local and national government regulations,
including transportation, environmental, and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board
(PCAOB), Financial Accounting Standards Board, inter-company procedures, REACH’s Audit
Policies and Procedures and REACH’s Code of Business Ethics.
- Decisions are made within established organization guidelines.
- Position involves a high degree of complexity in dealing with recurring work situations with many variations from the norm.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Job is not supervisory in nature, although information, support and work direction may be provided to co-workers.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree specializing in accounting or related field and minimum five years equivalent level
experience, preferably in similar setting preferred.
