Job Summary
The Housing Coordinator oversees the management and coordination of the emergency shelter and Rapid Rehousing residents. This role includes supervising housing advocates, fostering a supportive community environment, addressing crisis situations, assessing resident needs, and ensuring building operations
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day operations of emergency shelter, ensuring it is well-maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are met.
- Compile and report client statistical data as required by our funders, while ensuring all related agency documentation is accurately maintained.
- Implement motivational interviewing techniques to effectively communicate with residents and address their concerns.
- Provide crisis intervention support when necessary, assisting residents in navigating challenging situations.
- Collaborate with social work professionals to connect residents with community resources and support services.
- Oversee the development and review of needs assessments and individual service plans for residents at the shelter and Rapid rehousing units.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with local agencies, contractors, and service providers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in shelter or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to build relationships with landlords and other community partners.
- Experience in crisis intervention and motivational interviewing techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with tenants, staff, and external partners.
- A background in social work or related fields may be beneficial.
- Live with in 30 minutes of Manchester NH
- Participation in on-call rotation
