Duties
The Therapeutic Classroom Leader, in collaboration with the Therapeutic Education Leader and Therapeutic Child and Family Resilience Specialist, provides a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourage their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. The Therapeutic Classroom Leader plans and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum for enrolled children living in low-income, at-risk environments. They will ensure the provision of quality, comprehensive child development services including education, health, nutrition, parent involvement, and necessary family support services and referrals. The Therapeutic Classroom Leader will follow Head Start performance standards, policies and procedures, Childcare licensing requirements and City of Madison and NAEYC accreditation criteria (if applicable). They also build and maintain positive relationships with parents, children, coworkers and community partners.
Requirements
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any field (Social Work, counseling, Early Childhood related preferred)
- OR a high school diploma with completion of Preschool Credential or CDA within two years
