Responsible for managing all activities associated with inventory control, movement, accuracy and all kitting in manufacturing areas in the plant. Additionally, this position manages the shipping and receiving of all materials to and from the Plant.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Develop and implement effective long-term improvement strategies for warehouse function supporting overall plant strategic direction
- Establish and maintain effective inventory management program consistent with plant strategy
- Direct and control operational activities for materials department and warehouse activities
- Develop and maintain plant cycle count program
- Develop and monitor key performance measures and report to management as required
- Lead and/or participate in assigned special projects and initiatives
- Recruit, select and hire individuals as required in cooperation with Human Resources
- Develop and/or follow procedures and policies as required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
- Five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing materials environment
- Experience with Planning and Production Scheduling a plus
- Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiar with reading and interpreting engineering specifications and drawings
- Strong process improvement skills are required, specifically Lean tools
- Must be able to stand, sit, or squat for extensive periods of time, climb ladders, and/or lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
