Job Summary
This position provides customer sales support and service for Ready Mixed Concrete Company, Lincoln. Assure customer satisfaction, revenue generation and long-term account goals that are in line with the company strategic plan. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance required. Position is non-exempt (hourly).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maximizes opportunities to provide consulting services and solutions for Ready Mixed Concrete products to assigned accounts and clients.
- Matches the best solution to the needs of the specialized clients while listening and dedicating the appropriate amount of time to understand the situation of the customer and provide the technical expertise and solutions to the customer.
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of the company’s products, as well as understanding the strengths and weaknesses of competitor’s products.
- Assures credit and accounts receivable efforts are maintained with new and designated clients.
- Works collaboratively with company personnel and specialized clients to improve service performance and resolve support needs.
- Works collaboratively with General Testing Laboratory to coordinate mix design information required for mix submittals.
- Maintains involvement in industry associations such as the Nebraska Concrete and Aggregates Association and the American Concrete Institute Nebraska Chapter. Attend industry functions as needed.
- Represents Ready Mixed Concrete Company with a high level of professionalism, ethics, integrity and product knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education equivalent required; and
- three years of relationship sales and product experience and/or training with strong technical and design consulting sales; or
- equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid driver’s license and be insurable with the company driver policy.
- ACI Certification or ability to become certified within a year from date of employment and maintain certification thereafter.
Other Qualifications:
- Previous sales experience in a ready mixed concrete or construction related industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and to write sales reports and correspondence.
- Proven abilities to build and maintain business relationships.
- Must have good working knowledge of concrete products sold by the company.
- Ability to understand, conceptualize and persuade customers on the benefits of company related products that will meet their needs and add value to the end result.
- Proven track record in relationship management where excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate others has achieved results.
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics.
- Must be thorough in verbal and written communication skills to assure all aspects of the project are anticipated and documented.
- Must be able to work weekends and evenings based on business needs or customer requests.
