What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at ReadyWork Inc?
PURPOSE:
To perform maintenance tasks as directed by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Employee must pass the Maintenance 1 qualification exam and demonstrate a working knowledge of all aspects of the Maintenance 1 level. Assist mechanics in obtaining parts. Build equipment, with assistance. Identify parts by nomenclature and handle minor breakdowns without assistance. Employee must be able to gather tools to do a job. Document findings during preventative maintenance. Train and demonstrate the various duties of the maintenance lubrication technician through level 1 maintenance. Communicate with co-workers in English. May be asked to rotate to a different area of the plant (same position and shift) based on business needs. Perform other duties as assigned by the lead of supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to move about inside food processing facilities and in the farming fields. Ability to work on and build equipment. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Ability to inspect equipment and product. Ability to work outdoors. Must be able to work in a wet environment. Must be able to work in hot/cold temperatures. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100° to 110° F and as cold as -20° F to 32° F). Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighting up to 75 lbs.
OB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have a valid forklift certification.
· Must be able to demonstrate a friendly and productive attitude in a highly intensive work environment and show a willingness to support all Production activities as required.
· Must have good attendance and safety record.
· Cannot miss more than 8 unexcused days per calendar year.
· Employee cannot possess more than 2 written warnings in a continuous 12-month period.
· Must understand and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
· Must pass Quality Control GMP testing.
· Must understand and comply with all company safety policies including lock-out/tag-out procedures and policies.
· Must be trainable in all aspects of safety as it pertains to the maintenance and repair of dangerous, and potentially dangerous machinery.
· Must be able to rotate within the facility.
· Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
· Must be able to have a flexible schedule.
· Must demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
· May be required to work overtime or weekends depending on business need.
· Must be able to read and understand written information in English.
· Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
