The Quality Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Lead Quality Assurance activities, ensuring products meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Oversee company certifications and external agency approvals (AS9100D, ASME, NADCAP, NUPIC).
- Manage configuration management and quality assurance processes.
- Serve as the primary interface with customers and vendors on quality-related topics.
- Oversee Quality Management System and Quality Assurance processes.
- Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams to address quality issues.
- Review and approve raw materials for production.
- Supervise testing and inspection procedures, and document results.
- Investigate quality deviations and develop cost-effective inspection methods.
- Resolve customer complaints and improve product quality.
- Implement and sustain quality systems, using LEAN/Six Sigma for improvements.
- Balance prevention, appraisal, and failure costs.
- Maintain company certifications and external agency approvals.
- Plan and execute quality audits to ensure effectiveness.
The ideal Quality Engineer candidate will have the following skillset:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4-8 years of experience in various phases of Quality Assurance, or equivalent experience in Aerospace, Defense, or Nuclear Power generation environments.
- Must be mobile and able to communicate effectively with plant personnel at all levels.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to compose written reports and other communications.
- Superior analytical skills, proficient in using current computer analysis tools (Microsoft Office and other relevant programs).
