Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Intake Billing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and providing exceptional patient service. This role requires proficiency in medical billing software, preferably Brightree, and a strong understanding of Medicare and insurance claims processing.
Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims information to our processing company in a timely manner.
- Review patient care plans and ensure accurate coding for services rendered.
- Maintain organized files of patient records and billing documentation.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and patients regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all aspects of billing and patient information management.
- Provide medical administrative support as needed, including typing reports and correspondence.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve billing processes and patient service.
Experience
- Previous experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Brightree or similar medical billing software is a plus.
- Knowledge of Medicare guidelines, coding practices, and insurance claim processes is essential.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
