Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
- Serves as on-site supervision for the satellite office functions managed out of the North American Headquarters. These departments include; Engineering, Product Management and Information Technology.
- Serves as on-site oversight support in all other satellite office functions managed out of the North American Headquarters. These areas include; Finance, Sales, HR and Marketing.
- Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing, warehouse and shipping objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Develop and control profits, plans, and budget.
- Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or adjust plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
- Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisors.
Any combination of education and required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- At least 8 years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment with 100 employee
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements, manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures, LEAN manufacturing methods
- Highly skilled in managing both automated and semi-automated production environments and be highly knowledgeable of efficiency, capacity planning and assembly methods.
