Rebecca School is an independent, private therapeutic day school for children ages 3 to 21, promoting the education and development of children with neurodevelopmental delays of relating and communicating, including autism spectrum disorders. Rebecca school was founded in 2006 and utilizes the DIRFloortime® model (Developmental, Individual-difference, Relationship-based) developed by Stanley Greenspan, M.D.  

What we offer: 

• Compensation: $73,000.00 - $85,000.00 based on 12-month position based on degree and experience. 
• Consistent Pay: Bi-weekly pay schedule.

• Schedule: Monday, Thursday and Friday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 AM -4:30

Job Responsibilities: 

• Each week head teachers plan for children’s team reviews with observations/concerns/ideas/issues ready to discuss with interdisciplinary team. 
• Plans and executes lessons that follow Developmentally Appropriate Practice guidelines. 
• Participates in IEP meetings with family and classroom social workers regarding current level of functioning. 
• Plans/meets with classroom staff to discuss issues that arise (re: team, children, planning) 
• Provides training for teaching assistants on direct classroom team. 
• Evaluates Teacher Assistants/paraprofessionals a yearly basis. 
• Administers education assessments to determine a student’s level of function relative to the student’s age and educational placement in the five domains of development. 
• Develops treatment plans and goals based on the DIRFloortime® model (Developmental, Individual-difference, Relationship-based). 
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.  
• Biweekly emails to families, biannual progress reports, initial entrance summary for new students. 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in special education with plan to continue with master’s degree. 
• New York Teacher Certification. 

Preferred/Nice to have: 

• Knowledge of DIRFloortime® is preferred, but not required. 
• Master’s in special education.
