Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Duties
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Weekly payroll preparation, along with monthly and quarterly filing of all necessary tax returns.
- Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices.
- Oversee accounts receivable to monitor billing and confirm timely receipt of payments.
- Collaborate with the Controller to develop financial forecasts and budgets.
- Utilize financial software for effective financial management and reporting.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions for easy retrieval and reference.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a minimum of 5 years experience; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of debits and credits, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with public accounting practices is a plus.
- Proficient in financial software applications.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
