Weekend Horse Barn Manager

2 days - Saturday and Sunday (also the ability to work additional days occasionally is a bonus). Experienced horse feeder for 19 horses (must have a least 2 years of DAILY handling experience or have owned a horse or training or competing experience). This is a year round job with time off as needed, but not a temporary position.

Approximately 3.5-5.5 hours in the morning, 1.5-2 hours at night (dependent on your speed).

Morning tasks: start 7/7:30 am drop feed for 19 horses, blanket or put on fly masks/fly spray horses and move all horses to paddocks/stalls (1 hr), muck ~9 stalls, add shavings as needed, scrub and refill all water buckets, scrub refill water troughs as needed, give hay to 19 horses, sweep out barn aisles (2.5-4.5 hours depending on your speed). There are two barns, 16 stalls, and 3 outdoor paddocks (used instead of stalls). Minor care for pigs, cats, and chickens.

Evening tasks: start 5pm winter and 6pm summer, drop feed for 19 horses, fly spray or blanket, and move all horses to paddocks or stalls (1 hr), muck ~9 stalls (30 mins - 1 hr)

Other requirements:
- daily lifting of 40 to 50lbs bags or hay bales
- daily lifting, carrying, and dumping full water buckets
- shoveling ~250lbs manure each day
- handling 1,000lbs horses that are sometimes, though rarely, frisky
- sometimes moving supplies to other barn w/your vehicle
- minor care for pigs, chickens, and cats
