What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Specialist position at Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery?
Rebound is looking for a full-time Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Quality Department. The QA Specialist primarily assists the Quality Assurance Manager with OSHA compliance programs, our Employee Health program, clinical quality, patient complaints, risk management, employee recognition, and other duties as needed. This role is required to be on-site and is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain electronic documentation, training records, inspection checklists, and policies & procedures. Also maintain required safety documentation at all locations.
- Support Safety Committee by distributing minutes and coordinating documentation/resolution of safety issues identified during quarterly self-inspections.
- Oversee regular inspections of safety equipment. Purchase and stocks safety supplies and emergency medications at all locations.
- Plan and facilitate annual safety related events as requested by supervisor.
- Assist with new hire and refresher OSHA trainings.
- Build and maintain custom online training materials.
- Create and maintain Employee Medical Record files upon entrance, change, or exit. Coordinate and documents Employee Health program, including staff education, and follow up of exposure incidents.
- Assist with intake, research/investigation and reporting of patient concerns and complaints; responds to patients, customers, and employees as directed.
- Assist with intake and research/investigation of risk management situations as directed.
- Collect, document, and acknowledge employee recognition.
- Compile monthly stats from Patient Concern Log and other logs as directed.
- Provide employee compliance data to supervisors upon request.
- Investigate incidents and document all findings.
- Create and maintain Quality Assurance related forms.
- Maintain documentation of invoices for QA-related supplies and services.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Attend required meetings, in-services, and trainings as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education: High school graduate or general education degree (GED); College or post high school coursework preferred.
Experience: 2 Years Healthcare or Medical Office experience; Experience in a clinical capacity highly preferred; OSHA Compliance training/experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure: BLS Certification required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills and high degree of professionalism with patients, providers and co-workers. Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The ability to drive between campuses and work occasional evenings.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, stretching and stretching for files and/or supplies and equipment. Occasionally lifting items and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds. Coordination to climb stepladder to reach and/or stretch for files and/or supplies and equipment. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, type at 35 wpm, operate a calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary.
Typical Working Conditions:
Some exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Long periods of time working on computer.
