Accounting Manager
Work location: This position will work in Hampton Bays 4 days a week and 1 day in Plainview, NY.
Job Purpose:
This position will play a crucial role in the monthly financial reporting, budgeting and compliance of; Hotel, Catering and Restaurant responsibilities. This position involves supporting the Hotel and F&B General Managers and ownership. The ideal candidate will have a hospitality industry background in finance, accounting, and excellent analytical skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain compliance to ensure consistent and efficient financial processes.
· Financial Reporting: Preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure reports are accurate and delivered on time.
· Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the development and monitoring of annual budget. Provide monthly financial forecasts and analyses to support strategic planning and decision-making.
· Audit and Compliance: Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries. Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
· Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analyses to assess performance trends and identify areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to management. Speak to actual vs budget variances.
· Revenue Center Organization: All cash to be maintained in accordance with requirements from ownership/lenders.
Other Responsibilities:
· Review daily sales journal (income journal) and review with leadership during weekly meetings.
· Assist with preparation and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate back up according to auditing standards.
· Prepare monthly consolidated cash flow statements and forecasts.
· Coordinate with accounting teams of third parties (Hotel, F&B, Spa, HOA, Property Operations/Ownership) with respect to generating consolidated statements, budgets, etc.
· Reconcile credit cards to ledger accounts and aging reports on a weekly basis.
· Files sales tax returns, ensure that the taxes posted correspond to the revenues generated for each category, research and reconcile exceptions.
· Alert ownership and management of any unusual operation or financial occurrences and/or significant deviations from policies and procedures.
· Respond to governmental inquiries upon receipt.
· Attendance at meetings/training as required by management.
· Perform other duties as requested by ownership and management.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
· Four years or more of accounting work experience in the hospitality industry (i.e., chart of accounts, maintain general ledger accounts, reconciliations, monthly closings).
· Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Accounting Software)
· Experience with hospitality accounting and business analytics software required.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
