This role requires a diligent approach to coordinating multiple responsibilities, such as docketing, legal research, and managing communications among attorneys, staff, and external parties. The Personal Injury Case Manager organizes case files, monitors case statuses, and addresses any issues that arise, ensuring the integrity of attorney-client relationships and the adherence to firm policies.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Case Coordination and Administration: Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management including organizing and maintaining comprehensive case files, docketing critical deadlines, facilitating billing processes, and providing necessary reminders to ensure compliance with legal timelines.
- Detailed Case Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of case files, pulling and verifying numbers and relevant data to support case progress. Implement and oversee regular audits of case files to verify accuracy and completeness of information, ensuring all case elements are up-to-date and aligned with legal requirements.
- Interdepartmental Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between attorneys, support staff, and outside vendors. Manage the firm’s caseload, present case summaries and updates, and ensure all parties are aligned with current and upcoming requirements.
- Document Management and Monitoring: Maintain and organize necessary documentation and monitor case statuses. Address any specific issues that may arise with particular cases, such as conflicts or overlaps in attorney-client relationships.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough research to acquire documentation relevant to cases, such as health insurance data, social security information, medical records, and details from medical providers.
- Client Interaction: Answer client questions directly when possible and refer them to the attorney when necessary. Maintain regular communication with clients and outside counsel to update on case status and resolve inquiries.
- Scheduling and Time Management: Schedule court cases, hearings, and attorney-client meetings. Responsible for managing case time effectively and overseeing client billing.
- Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents: Prepare initial drafts of legal documents for attorney review and scrutinize documents to confirm they meet all legal and firm-specific requirements.
- Insurance and Medical Coordination: Work closely with insurance companies and adjustors to initiate and maintain client payments. Coordinate with various medical providers to collect essential information needed for client cases, ensuring timely and accurate case progress.

- A Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or related field is preferred.
- Certification or degree as a paralegal is highly preferred.
