What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Systems Specialist position at Reco NC?
Summary:
The Quality Systems Specialist will act as a representative fo the Reco NC Quality Management Systems (QMS) to external certifiers, customers, and suppliers and all internal Reco employees.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Measures and reports on customer satisfaction and specific areas of concern.
· Responds to customer concerns, working with the management team as needed to ensure internal consensus in external communications.
· Assists in maintaining QMS certifications by ensuring that the QMS meets the prescriptions of the applicable standards and responding to audit findings.
· Assists in representing the company during external audits.
· Participates on a team of internal auditors selected from across the company.
· Compiles reports and documents resulting corrective actions from audit findings
· Participation in the RMA process.
· Provide customers with failure analysis reports (with Engineering aid) and other responses.
· Participate in MRB process and ensures timely disposition of material.
· Works with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify root causes of defects and corrective actions.
· Documents the effectiveness of corrective actions.
· Use data collected at multiple test and inspection points to generate, and report yield and first pass yield statistics/metrics by work order, department, and overall, on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
· Performs detailed analyses to identify systematic problems with products, processes, personnel, or equipment.
· Reports trends in metrics and acts to resolve negative trends.
· Works with Engineering to ensure suppliers have sufficient information to provide the proper materials, including customer flow-downs.
· Works with Purchasing and Materials to eliminate defective materials from the manufacturing process and provide feedback to suppliers.
· Works with production to ensure products are being built to the required quality standards.
· Works with production to identify possible future deviations to the quality standards. Works with production to periodically inspect products for quality compliance.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Documented training in using a QMS to meet ISO9001 or AS9100 requirements preferred.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
· Associate’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent combination of college-level education and experience. Mathematics education including basic statistics and trigonometry preferred.
· At least one-year experience in a Quality Engineering role in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Physical Ability to work in a manufacturing setting; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
· Physical Ability to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements.
· Physical Ability to operate precision measurement equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and find coordination.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
