What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Front Desk position at Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgical Associates?
Medical Receptionist:
1. Greet all patients and visitors in a warm and caring manner and ensure that their needs are met in a prompt and responsive manner
2. Answers telephones, screens calls, transfers to proper extensions, and/or relays messages to members of the Office
3. Retrieves messages on answering machine and follow-up all messages
4. Schedules patient appointments, makes confirmations and telephones the day before appointment, record disappointments and cancellations
5. Verifies Insurance Eligibility for all patients
6. Print Superbill
7. Insert required forms in the chart
8. Scan required forms in the EHR system
9. Fax consult sheets to PCP
10. Mail referrals back to PCP
11. Ensure that the appointment book is fully scheduled
12. Instruct patients on completion of patient registration, books appointments, print receipts for payment and reschedule for the next appointment for patients
13. Responsible for notifying the assistant and doctor when patient’s paperwork is completed so they can be seated in the treatment room
14. Files alphabetically all patient charts after they have been entered in the computer
15. Copy and assembles patient charts
16. Retrieve all faxes received and deliver them to the recipient for proper action
17. From Office Ally Practice Manager programs, enters, stores, manipulates and retrieves chart information on computer for all patients assigned daily
18. Responsible for patient’s chart preparation including all forms required in every chart assigned to the doctor for all patients scheduled daily
19. Pulls charts for patients in preparation for incoming dates
20. Send statements to patients for No Show appointments.
21. Prepares labels for new patient charts
22. Responsible for collecting fees from patients and documenting payment in chart
23. Performs daily summaries of cash, checks and credit cards received for payment
24. Participates in Lunch & Learn activities
25. Uses word processing for correspondence and forms
26. Inventories of office supplies
27. Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum two years of experience as a Medical Receptionist
2. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required
3. Experience in Office Ally Manager Program helpful but not necessary
4. Flexibility in time is required.
5. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 56 per week
