JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Title Clearance Officer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and clearing title issues, coordinating with attorneys, lenders, and clients, and ensuring smooth and timely closings. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and an in-depth understanding of New York State real estate laws and title underwriting.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review title searches, title commitments, surveys and property records to identify potential title issues.
- Work with underwriters, lenders, attorneys, and clients to resolve title defects, including liens, judgments, survey issues, and other encumbrances.
- Ensure all necessary title clearances and curative measures are completed before closing.
- Prepare and issue title policies, endorsements, and other relevant documentation.
- Communicate with all parties involved in the transaction to facilitate a smooth closing process.
- Monitoring and coordinating email communication through the company’s "Clearance" email after distribution of title commitment.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in title clearance, title underwriting, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of New York State real estate laws, title insurance underwriting and best practices, the TIRSA Rate Manual and general closing procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and basic Windows-based applications.
- Knowledge of TrackerPro title software preferred but not required.
