Position Overview

The Associate Business Manager is responsible for working on the sales team and for managing sales functions within the organization. This is a cross functional role within the organization working on both the sales team and the operations team while learning and developing category management skillset. This position will report to the VP – Kroger Team.

 

Essential Functions

 

Client Operations:

  • Work collaboratively with sales operations and analytics on proposals and deliverables
  • Develop and demonstrate excellent analytical skills (including Category Management to improve business results)
  • Develop and demonstrate leadership qualities consistent with RecorGroup’s culture.
  • Collaborate with executive leaders in sales & marketing teams to better leverage assets while providing higher value to our clients and customers.
  • Assist in the development of key account business plans to achieve volume growth and profit objectives, including revenue, distribution, customer service and quality goals.
  • Assist in facilitating business reviews with customers. Act as business unit liaison among manufacturers, logistics, sales, finance and accounting to support existing and new business.
  • The ABM will assist the sales team in strong collaborative relationship building and influencing skills to successfully engage customers and manage resources of multiple client businesses.
  • Prepares and maintains promotional and new items contracts
  • Submits and maintains customers new item and promotional web platforms
  • Establishes a workflow process to manage and deliver contract requests to business managers in a timely manner
  • Interfaces with manufacturer customer service teams
  • Reviews EDI order processing
  • Manages claims and deduction management
  • Facilitates claims repayment
  • Assists in creating sales presentations
  • Works within client’s proprietary systems

 

Executive Operations:

  • Completes projects and special assignments by establishing objectives; determining priorities; managing time; gaining cooperation of others; monitoring progress; problem-solving; adjusting plans
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes and implementing changes
  • Takes ownership over accomplishing new and different requests
  • Explores opportunities to add value
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education & Experience Required

  • Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • Familiar with Trade Management systems
  • Familiarity with Kroger systems (Demandtec, VIP, Lavante)
  • Experience with Kroger data systems and reporting including Market 6 and Stratum
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools necessary to perform job functions
  • Kroger experience on a manufacturer, broker, or retailer preferred
  • 4-year Degree and/or Combination of Education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position

  • Interpersonal skills: Team oriented that values their personal ownership. Including building relationships and conflict resolution. This involves the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with peers, management, suppliers, and other company departments.  Open communication and transparency.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

 

 

Physical Demands & Environment

This position works in a remote office environment, indoors subject to fluctuations in temperature (indoor climate control) with moderate noise level and lighting.  This position has the following physical demands and incumbents must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Sufficient mobility to move around the office
  • Ability to use hands for grasping files, papers, notebooks, writing implements, etc.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read documents on paper and on the computer
  • Sitting at a desk for up to 8 hours at a time
  • May lift up to 20 lbs.

 

Travel Requirements

This position will travel occasionally
