What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Transportation Driver position at Recover-Care Healthcare?
POSITION SUMMARY: Safely transport patients, residents, members, and/or employees to and from the service location during approved activities to pre-determined destinations.

- Operates the service location’s vehicles in a safe manner when transporting patients, residents, members, and/or employees;
- Assists patients, residents, members, and/or employees when boarding and disembarking the vehicles;
- Ascertains safe arrival to the destination;
- Maintains route and mileage logs in accordance with Company policy;
- Monitors routine vehicle safety conditions, including fuel and vital fluid levels, in accordance with Company policy;
- Reports any vehicle problems or maintenance needs to the Administrator immediately;
- Makes certain that all vehicle passengers follow safety procedures, including fastening seat belts, prior to moving the van;
- Interacts in a positive manner with patients, residents, members and families as a representative of the service location;
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Current driver’s license in good standing.
- Commercial driver’s license (if required).
- This position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the worksite when responding to their medical and physical needs.
- Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required.
- CPR Certified.
- Excellent driving record and be safety conscious.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Compassionate individual capable of rendering physical assistance, as needed.
- Ability to positively interact with personnel, patients, residents, members, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Interacts with patients, residents, members, families, visitors, service location and Recover-Care subsidiary personnel.
- Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
