Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to individuals facing various challenges, including those related to gender issues, developmental disabilities, and mental health crises. The Counselor will utilize therapeutic techniques such as group therapy and dance therapy to foster personal growth and emotional well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address clients' needs.
- Provide crisis management support to individuals in distress.
- Utilize dance therapy techniques as a therapeutic tool for expression and healing.
- Collect and analyze data related to client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' mental health status.
- Address gender issues through specialized counseling approaches.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and treatment plans in accordance with confidentiality regulations.
- Support clients with developmental disabilities by implementing tailored strategies for their growth.
Qualifications
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in gender issues counseling is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and crisis management techniques.
- Knowledge of data collection methods for assessing client progress.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating independence in client interactions.
- Certification or training in group therapy or dance therapy is an advantage.
