Lab Assistant – Albuquerque, NM
Recovery Services of New Mexico is looking for a Full Time Lab Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter data into LabDaq/Laboratory Information System.
- Track and organize incoming samples based on date and time collected.
- Prepare and organize monthly manifests and ten percent reviews
- Receive and ensure integrity of laboratory specimens using proper handling procedure.
- Prepare/aliquot sample tubes with licensed personal supervision.
- Assist with preparing daily requisitions for all samples received in the lab.
- Unpack, record and store reagents and supplies.
- Drive to local clinics to pick up samples and deliver them to the lab for testing.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid state driver’s license
- Proof of Auto insurance
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
- Knowledge in collection of urine samples
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Flexibility in work assignment
- Strong commitment to ethical requirements of the position and the company
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and company records
- Working knowledge of Windows operating system
- Ability to learn and use company computer software programs
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Accuracy of record keeping, i.e. maintaining laboratory charts and documents
