How you make a difference
The Risk Management Coordinator plays a crucial role in identifying and evaluating incidents, patterns, and trends to minimize risks and enhance safety across the facility. By keeping key staff informed of serious events and offering actionable recommendations, this position directly contributes to a proactive risk management culture. Additionally, the coordinator will provide training and orientation on risk management practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring the team is always prepared and compliant. Key Responsibilities
Risk Management Program Coordination: Coordinates the facility's risk management program, including the annual review and revision of the facility's risk management plan and related policies.
Incident Investigations: Manages timely investigations of adverse incidents involving individuals served, staff, or visitors, including rights violations, abuse, neglect, and grievances.
Regulatory & External Agency Coordination: Coordinates with regulatory agencies for investigations and assists with audits as needed.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Aggregates and analyzes incident report data to identify trends and prepares accurate reports for leadership and outside agencies.
Training & Risk Reduction Strategies: Develops and presents training on risk management regulations, and leads post-incident and root cause analyses to implement risk reduction strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Required: Associate’s degree.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
- Required: Two (2) years' current experience in risk management or three (3) years' current experience in a health care or mental health setting.
- Preferred: Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) or other accreditation system and patient safety.
