Position Summary – Detox Alcohol and Drug Case Manager
As a Detox Drug and Alcohol Case Manager in our medically-managed withdrawal facility, you will be responsible for providing support and after patient care to individuals undergoing detoxification from substance abuse. Your primary role will involve case management, discharge planning, and aftercare coordination to promote their recovery and overall well-being. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for clients during the detoxification process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct initial assessments to gather information about clients' substance abuse history, mental health, medical conditions, and social support systems.
- Monitor clients' progress during detoxification and provide emotional support and guidance throughout the process
- Educate clients about the detoxification process, potential withdrawal symptoms, and coping strategies to manage cravings and triggers
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure clients' physical and mental well-being during detoxification.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed and refer clients to appropriate resources for specialized care, such as psychiatric evaluation or medical treatment
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Complete and document Care Coordination Plans with patients
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and stay updated on best practices in addiction treatment
- Transporting patients
- Provide support to technician and intake team in low-staffing situations
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Relevant certifications or licenses including Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) preferred
- Ability to pass a Background Check
- Valid Driver’s License (if transporting patients)
- Active First Aid and CPR certification (we can provide)
- Knowledge of addiction treatment modalities, detoxification protocols, and recovery principles
- Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as motivational interviewing, CBT, and solution-focused therapy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Sympathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude toward individuals struggling with addiction
- Proficient computer skills for documentation and record-keeping
- Training in De-escalation (will be provided by RWNW)

- Part time OR Full time available
