Description
Supervises and directs employees in work assignments daily, covering three shifts. Liaisons space utilization with Recreation Manager, Scheduling, events and maintenance staff and chartered club officers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other important responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following.
- Supervises, trains, schedules, and reviews the work of all staff for daily operations as well as special events.
- Responds to requests by Senior Management and members regarding facility operations and policies.
- Reviews, assesses, and assigns maintenance requirements to staff.
- Orders all supplies necessary for the overall function of the facility.
- Issued a company phone to respond to emergencies 24 hours, 7 days a week, including fire and security alarms as well as employee or resident issues.
- Maintain supplies in respective areas of responsibility, conducts security checks of buildings and facilities.
- Inspects facility and reports deficiencies to the Facility Supervisor and Maintenance Department.
- Engages and addresses issues, concerns or questions from community members related to the recreation center.
- Attends and participates in various meetings and remains current of new trends and innovations in the field of facility operations and maintenance.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations and handles any corrective actions needed for performance deficiencies for assigned employees.
- Interview candidates and helps selects staff for open positions. Provide orientation and safety training and assigns employees to their job duties.
- Performs security checks of buildings
- Approves bi-weekly timecard entries to include accurately reviewing any requests for time-off.
- Connects employee with Human Resources department for benefits and health related needs.
- Assists in the development and implementation of training employees.
- Performs office related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor. This could include attendance calendars and making schedules.
- Training of new and developing schedules for staff members as deemed appropriate by the immediate supervisor. Develops and implements training procedures for new employees.
- Performs routine and security checks of buildings, vehicles, and facilities. Reports any deficiencies or needed changes to the Sr. Facility Supervisor, Facilities Manager and/or maintenance department as needed.
- Works with the Safety Coordinator to ensure safety policies are being followed and monthly safety evaluations are completed and submitted timely.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include weekend work, holidays, and in some cases schedule changes on short notice.
- Maintains a regular and consistent record of acceptable onsite attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines. This is a night position and will require the ability to work a night schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Arizona driver's license and good driving record for insurance purposes.
May be required to take, pass, and maintain the Certified Food Protection Manager certification course.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises and directs all assigned employees daily. Supervisory responsibilities include planning, directing, interviewing, training, employee discipline, payroll processing, and performance evaluations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Sufficient Training and education to demonstrate possession of required knowledge, skills and qualifications are required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience in field of recreation or maintenance, or college degree/coursework in recreation or business
- An equivalent combination of school and experience may be used
- One year of increasingly responsible supervisory experience.
- Specific knowledge of janitorial and routine building maintenance and handling of chemicals, some of which are hazardous, required
- Must have solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced facility setting with moderate to loud levels of noise. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects and tools to include computers and office equipment. Vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

The noise level in the work environment can be moderate or louder depending on the venue.
Work is expected to be performed from an office and facility settings and venues that are both indoors and outdoors.
