Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Create and maintain production, reporting, and development databases.
- Perform proactive capacity planning to ensure uninterrupted database availability.
- Monitor and tune database performance to maintain optimal operations.
- Install and apply patches to keep databases current and compatible with existing applications.
- Plan and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
- Manage encryption for production and non-production databases, including SSL and TDE.
- Migrate non-CDB databases to CDB databases as required.
- Implement Oracle GoldenGate Microservices for efficient database replication.
- Enforce security protocols for all databases.
- Establish and maintain standards to ensure application design and code integrity, security, and performance.
- Review database object design and code for adherence to standards.
- Evaluate new Oracle releases, tools, and third-party products to maintain compatibility and relevance.
- Plan application releases to minimize database downtime.
- Provide technical assistance to application development teams for database schema design.
- Administer database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages, and procedures.
- Maintain cross-database replication tools (e.g., Oracle GoldenGate Services) to ensure synchronization of reporting databases.
- Stay updated on database technology trends and advancements.
- Perform database patching, upgrades, and monitoring using various tools.
- Develop scripts in Unix shell, Perl, or Python for database operations.
- Write and optimize Oracle SQL / PLSQL queries and utilize Rest APIs.
- Apply DevOps methodologies and best practices to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot database errors and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Analyze the impact of changes to database objects and troubleshoot related issues.
- Configure user privileges and manage access controls as required.
- Design and manage the physical database structure and its resources.
