In this role, you will be responsible for:
- System Design: Develop and evaluate hydraulic systems for aerospace applications, including landing gear, flight control systems, and braking systems.
- System Analysis: Conduct simulations and performance analyses to ensure hydraulic systems meet aerospace standards and operational requirements.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure hydraulic system designs comply with FAA, EASA, and other aerospace regulatory standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and avionics engineers, to integrate hydraulic systems seamlessly into aircraft designs.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential failure points in hydraulic systems and implement robust safety measures and redundancies.
- Testing and Validation: Oversee the testing and certification of hydraulic components and systems under various operational conditions.
- Maintenance Recommendations: Provide expertise for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of existing aerospace hydraulic systems.
- Project Management: Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for hydraulic engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery.
- Research and Development: Stay updated on advancements in aerospace hydraulic technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of system designs.
- Bachelor's degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university (relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree on a case-by-case basis).
- 7 (seven) or more years of relevant work experience in aerospace design, including hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency with 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Ability to follow a structured design and certification process.
- Strong technical writing abilities (preferred).
- Previous work experience with a general aviation OEM (preferred).
- Experience with 14 CFR Part 23 and interfacing with the FAA (preferred).
- Passion for aircraft, flying, and all things aviation (preferred).
