Key Responsibilities :
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Accruals Management :Oversee the accurate and timely accrual of expenses and revenues for monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
Record and manage journal entries related to accruals (e.g., prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, etc.).Ensure the proper recognition of accrued expenses (e.g., wages, utilities, and vendor costs) and deferred revenue for accurate financial reporting.Budgeting and Forecasting :Assist corporate controller in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances and adjust projections accordingly.Review accruals and adjustments to ensure alignment with budgeted figures.Internal Controls :Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Monitor compliance with company policies and accounting standards related to accruals and other financial processes.Audit Support :Coordinate with corporate controller during financial audits.
Provide audit evidence and explanations related to accruals and other financial entries.Address any audit findings or recommendations regarding accruals or other accounting practices.Cash Flow Management :Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the organization has sufficient funds to meet its obligations.
Review and adjust accruals to ensure accurate representation of cash requirements.Team Leadership :Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
Provide training on accounting principles and reporting standards.Continuous Improvement :Identify and implement process improvements to increase the accuracy and efficiency of accrual management and financial reporting.
Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations related to accruals and financial reporting.Required Skills and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 2-3 years in a controller role.Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles.Experience with financial reporting and budgeting processes.Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus).Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
