Distributor Business Development Representative Profile :
Excited about “hunting” for new business vs managing existing accts.
Loves the thrill of the pursuit, closes accts and lets customer service manage the process afterwards.
Leverages Customer Service Dept to manage customer quotes / issues / questions.
We can feel their intensity, nothing gets in their way to close new accts.
Commission motivated (more interested in total potential $s vs base salary).
Hunter Mentality (prefers hunting for new business vs. account management).
Exceptional w / time management (does admin & quotes at end of day).
Acutely aware of best to use their time to close new business.
Self-disciplined : activity, focus, change.
Comes from a high activity structured sales background.
Willing to follow our sales process and talking points.
Cold called focused experience.
Quick creative thinker.
Able to create rebuttals quickly.
Debater (i.e. on Highschool debate team).
High energy.
Assertive & confident but not arrogant.
Able to discern who is involved in the buying decision.
Experience with navigating through an organization to identify and get in front “Key Influencers” that are involved in the decision-making process (ability to create momentum in an organization).
Able to build the relationship / rapport over the phone and Zoom calls.
Can pitch things quickly.
Uncanny interpersonal skills that enable rep to read the buyer and know when to close.
