Our client is an innovative AI-driven technology startup transforming how local and state governments operate. Founded in 2024 and recently securing $2M in seed funding from notable investors (including cofounders of prominent GovTech companies), they're developing sophisticated AI agents that save government staff 10-20 hours per week.

With 4 cities already implementing paid pilots, 5 more closing soon, and a waitlist of 20 municipalities, they're experiencing tremendous market validation. Their ambitious goal is to reach 100 cities within the next 12 months, representing $3-6M in ARR. What You Will Do

• Ship high-quality code at a rapid pace, helping transition their product from MVP to mass-market readiness
• Take end-to-end ownership of high-impact, technically complex projects that shape product direction
• Interact directly with users to build customer empathy, enable rapid iteration, and inform the product roadmap
• Contribute to the technical architecture and implementation of AI solutions using modern frameworks and technologies
• Help define how artificial intelligence transforms government operations across the United States
• Work with a nimble, experienced team in a fast-paced startup environment where your contributions will have immediate impact

Ideal Candidate Background

• 0-5 years of experience in full-stack software engineering with familiarity in both frontend and backend development (can be weighted toward either direction)
• Strong builder mentality with demonstrated side projects or independent work (active GitHub presence)
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript
• Experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements
• Strong communication skills and comfort interfacing directly with customers
• Passion for the mission of improving government operations through technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at high-growth tech startups or early-stage companies
• Familiarity with React, NextJS, FastAPI, Supabase, Selenium, TailwindCSS, and/or shadcn
• Entrepreneurial background (founded/co-founded a tech startup)
• Experience at software startups in traditional industries (real estate, construction, supply chain, etc.)
• Degree from a competitive CS program or participation in programs like Neo Scholars

Compensation and Benefits
