Senior Mechanical Engineer & Team Leader at Our Client

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer & Team Leader to lead the technical design and system engineering for our client's next-generation machines. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with leadership and technical coordination responsibilities. You’ll guide the transition from our Beta machine’s learnings into a robust, manufacturable Alpha machine, ensuring scalability, reliability, and excellence in design.
As a technical leader, you will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, software, and manufacturing, to deliver integrated solutions. Your contributions will shape product roadmap and drive the successful realization of our ambitious vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and system engineering for the our client, ensuring integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Take the learnings from Beta Machine development and testing and incorporate them into the design and manufacturing processes for the Alpha machine.
- Oversee system architecture, defining key interfaces and ensuring design coherence across all subsystems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with product and business goals.
- Drive the development of scalable, manufacturable solutions that meet cost, quality, and performance requirements.
- Develop and review detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and documentation.
- Lead technical problem-solving efforts, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration within the team.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring on-time and high-quality outputs.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on product design and system integration.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technical design projects from concept through production.
- Strong expertise in system engineering and architecture, including defining and managing interfaces between subsystems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, thermal analysis).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software, electrical, and manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and prototyping.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
