Position Overview:
As a Restaurant Manager/Kitchen Manager, you will play a crucial role in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. You will be responsible for overseeing daily restaurant activities, managing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, implementing standards for guest service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and optimizing profitability. A strong sense of leadership, organization, and a hands-on approach to operations are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring smooth coordination between both.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including overseeing food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, inventory, and ordering supplies.
- Develop and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen and restaurant staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Handle scheduling, staffing, and payroll for kitchen and restaurant employees.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels and manage food cost control.
- Implement and maintain effective communication with staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure a high-quality guest experience at all times.
- Manage budgets, financial reports, and meet sales and profitability goals.
- Enforce company policies and best practices, maintaining high standards of customer service.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, Kitchen Manager, or similar role in a casual dining setting.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in staff management, including training and performance evaluation.
- Ability to manage budgets and financial reports.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and customer service skills.
- Flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Culinary background and/or relevant certifications (preferred).
