Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the accounting of costs for the Corporation, contributing to the maintenance of strong cash flows.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of GAAP, excellent research skills, and the ability to respond to financial system requests for reports, information support, training, and system enhancements in a timely and professional manner.

This role supports finance staff in resolving critical close issues and assists with account and program reconciliations, including research for external and government compliance audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end close, post journal entries, and ensure key processes are completed within tight deadlines.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with company policy.
• Modify existing reports or create new ones as necessary for new companies, projects, reporting requirements, or account codes.
• Conduct investigations and resolve complex month-end reconciliations.
• Provide support to compliance and auditors through significant research, data mining, reports, and resolution of finance system queries.
• Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as required.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of six (6) years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proficiency in Excel.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles.
• Experience with government contracting.
• Familiarity with S4 Hana preferred.
