Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Accounting Senior Manager to join our Corporate Accounting team in Springdale, Arkansas. This role will serve as an expert and project lead on various U.S. GAAP and SEC technical accounting issues, focusing on complex transactions and new accounting guidance. You will independently assess the implications, document conclusions, communicate with stakeholders, train teams, and manage implementation plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting guidance in areas such as contracts, revenue recognition, leases, derivatives, VIE assessments, impairment analysis, acquisitions, divestitures, and new accounting standards.
• Lead projects and research complex accounting issues, specifically working extensively with lease accounting.
• Develop and mentor Technical Accounting and Corporate Accounting team members to assist with technical accounting reviews.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with various levels in the organization, championing the company's core values and team behaviors.
• Work proactively with external auditors to drive timely closure of technical accounting matters.
• Simplify complex accounting topics for both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Experience:
• Strong technical accounting research experience.
• Proven ability to write detailed accounting memos and effectively communicate technical accounting conclusions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with various stakeholders.
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
• Communication Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Computer Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with technical research tools.
• Special Skills:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lease Accounting Experience: Knowledge and experience with ASC 842 is a plus.
• Curiosity: A generally curious mindset with a passion for learning and exploring new technical accounting issues.
• Software Skills: Working knowledge of SAP and Power BI is preferred.

Additional Information

• Relocation: Nationwide relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
• Travel: 1 to 4 domestic trips per year.
• Work Hours: Not flexible; standard work hours are required.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have direct reports but involves working collaboratively with various teams.

Benefits and Compensation

• Salary: $98,000 – $130,000 per year.
• Additional Compensation: Possible annual bonus of up to 15%.
