What are the responsibilities and job description for the Firestop Engineer position at RectorSeal?
The Firestop Specialist will provide technical expertise and training on products related to the Firestop market. The role will serve as technical liaison to internal and external stakeholders across Firestop product lines. The primary role is to provide technical support to our customers, such as offering product selections, installation instructions, and engineering judgment on specific job conditions. In addition to phone support, job site visits with the customer are required to assist with problem resolution. This hybrid role will require an office presence for three to four days on-site at our facility during regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and training focusing on products related to the firestop market.
- Handle technical calls and email communication from the internal sales force, distributors, and installers. Assist the customer with product selections.
- Provide installation recommendations or engineering judgements regarding the specific field conditions.
- Stay abreast of firestop products, firestop testing, building codes, and other regulations.
- Assure internal and external customers receive quality answers to technical inquiries regarding the use and/or application of Rectorseal Firestop products.
Required Experience:
- BS or BA in Engineering or other Technical Discipline
- 1 year working experience in firestop or related industry
Skills/Competencies:
- Understand the technical drawings
- Familiar with AutoCAD or Solidworks
- Strong communication and written skills
- Passion for customer experience
- Excellent telephone and written communications skills
Preferred Experience:
- 3 years experience with firestop industry, such as fire testing, firestop installation, or firestop inspection.
- 5 years experience with construction industry.
