Senior Product Development Manager

Job Overview:

The role of the Senior Product Manager is to align business and product strategies within their focus portfolio of products. A successful candidate must be able to manage a team of product managers to execute their aligned tasks and projects successfully. This role also involves owning their product portfolio, including maintenance activities to bolster growth and address issues, collecting and using customer inputs to support the products, and prioritizing new product development projects to expand the portfolio. This role is integral to the business and works across every function within RectorSeal, both internally and externally. This hybrid role will require an office presence for three to four days on-site at our Houston Spenwick facility during regular business hours.

RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes various chemical and mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of product managers within a specific product category to execute business growth objectives and align on strategic positioning
• Own product life cycles, including road maps, line reviews, SWOT, and SKU harmonization/rationalization
• Execute product development initiatives. Develop product specifications, timelines, and financial models detailing CAPEX, ROI, etc., for crucial product activities
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and contractors to develop, ideate, and execute product initiatives that drive differentiation and additional sales
• Collaborate with marketing to commercialize new products and optimize RectorSeal's brand, product, and packaging position
• Work with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to optimize the product offering
• Evaluate Intellectual Property to identify and execute IP strategies
• Align strategy and deliverables within the Product Strategy and Management team

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related degree
• 5 years working in a Product Marketing or Product Management role, with a passion for customer experience and an ability to demonstrate a proven track record of identifying new opportunities or solving pain points based on customer insight and data.
• 1 years working in a people manager role (handling crucial conversations, performance management, etc)
• Proficient in Microsoft 365, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Must be available for at least 20% of travel

Preferred Experience:

• HVAC, industry experience working with distributors and contractors, and knowledge of products to serve the market
• Experience with RectorSeal systems (JD Edwards and PowerBI)
• Strong critical thinking and business curiosity; ability to drive insights and decisions utilizing multiple inputs and data sources.
• Thrive on changes in a fast-paced environment
