Red Barn Meats, Inc. is a family- owned business established in 2012. We have built a reputable customer base providing both USDA and custom meat processing as well as providing several schools, stores and restaurants with locally sourced quality meats. We are excited as we continue to grow with an extensive expansion project underway. Red Barn Meats always accepts applications. New hires are Team Apprentices during the probationary period and will have supervised on-the-job training satisfying job description requirements.
We have the following teams at Red Barn:
Wrap Team: prepares meat products by weighing, wrapping and labeling; ensure market display cases are kept full, rotated, and fresh with prepackaged meats; and promotes customer service.
Floater Team: engages with operational departments, ensuring the process is working seamlessly. This role involves working independently and as part of a team; able to maintain a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
Smoke House Team: specializes in preparing, cooking, and smoking various types of meat products.
Cut Team: ensures meat is processed according to orders/instructions while maintaining quality control and safety.
Kill Floor Team: humanely harvests livestock according to USDA regulations.
Clean Team: uses USDA-approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces, sanitize all components of our food production and processing equipment, and ensure there is no unnecessary waste along the assembly line.
Responsibilities and desired skills are specific to the team role.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to manipulate items weighing 60 lbs in various directions for storage.
- Must be able to withstand long periods of staying still and moving about the work area safely and efficiently.
- Must be able to exercise fine motor skills and manual dexterity; precision is required to maintain sharp knives.
- Must be able to position oneself to access materials, machinery, and storage.
- Must be able to exercise repetitive movements
- Must have physical stamina
- Must be able to work in different temperatures, specifically cold.
Salary : $15 - $17
